Looks like Cobra is trying to spread their wings into the overly crowded Portable GPS market. While they are at it, they are not only targeting the Baby Boomers, with their large icons, but they are also aiding them to avoid the long arm of the law along their way to their destinations. That’s because the Nav One 5000 has the built in ability to display red-light and speed camera warnings. Another unique feature is the ability to select you “favorite” brand of store, for example McDonalds. So while you navigate, you will always know where the nearest Big Mac is! The screen is a 5″er with touch capability.
Is that enough to justify dropping $510, the suggested MSRP, to acquire one of these baby’s? Let me entice you with the added features that include Bluetooth integration, real-time traffic information, and updatable maps via pc to name a few. Still not persuaded? Can’t really blame you. Competition is stiff, and for the money, there are better offerings. But then again, this is only the beginning for Cobra, and I’m sure things will only get better. Stay tuned!
