Kenwood released sometime back their “premium-level in-dash CD receiver with integrated Bluetooth and enhanced multi-line display capabilities”, the KDC-BT838U.

Some features include:

…streaming wireless audio from another Bluetooth device through A2DP compatibility…A highly visible, three-line full-dot display provides the ability to view address book names and call status as well as full telephone numbers. High-speed USB connectivity … of iPod, USB mass storage

Seven new CD Receivers from Kenwood

Kenwood is starting 2008 off with a fresh assortment of newly updated and fresh CD Receivers, in seven flavors to choose from. Shared features include 3-4-lines of text, Interactive Illumination Effect, and 1-Wire Direct Connection to iPods. Also included in all are Aux inputs for easy plug and play of portable music devices, 50W X 4 built-in power, include RCA preouts for system expansion and (with the exception of the KDC-MP208 and KDC-138) all are Satellite, HD Radio and Bluetooth Ready.

The flagship KDC-BT838U(pictured above) includes hands-free cell phone operation, voice prompt dialing, A2DP music streaming and even text messaging. Text messaging?

The KDC-MP438U (displayed below) features an illuminated front panel USB and Aux input with a sliding cover to protect them.

Pioneer comes out swinging in 2008 - Drops 12 new CD Players

Picky about your cd players? Well leave it to Pioneer to suit (or confuse you more) with a dizzying array of choices to choose from. At this year’s CES, Pioneer has introduced 12 new CD Players in both their Pioneer and Premiere lines. Their top of the line double-din, pictured above, is the FH-P8000BT, which features a OEL three line display.

Pioneer single CD players also include these additional key features:

• Built-In USB Control – for iPods, USB memory devices and other portable storage (flash drives) devices with a USB connection. BLUETOOTH® Wireless Technology – hands-free cellular phone operation, automatic phonebook transfer, and Advanced Echo Cancellation feature.
• Auxiliary Input – a mini-jack port for quick connection of any portable device.
• HD Digital Radio Ready - DEH-P7000BT, DEH-P700BT, FH-P8000BT, and FH-P800BT have built-in HD Radio control.
• Satellite Radio Ready – Most of the models are XM and SIRIUS satellite radio ready, giving consumers a choice in service.

Pioneer as added lots of iPod compatibility enhancements, including:

• Alphabetical Speed Search allows the user to quickly scroll through long lists of artists, albums, and songs titles. The speed search can be performed by accessing its first letter in the title.
• iPod Passenger Control gives the option for passengers to browse and select music directly through the iPod player itself.
• Link Search let users view all the content by the currently playing artist (similar to the artist folder function on an iPod).
