Looks like CarDomain.com will no longer maintain an e-Commerce presence as of yesterday? It appears that they are redirecting everyone to Crutchfield.com. As one can see, by navigating to http://caraudio.cardomain.com/, will take you to http://www.crutchfield.com/. If that wasn’t enough proof for you, maybe the banner on Crutchfield.com, “Welcome CarDomain Community!” will seal the deal.

I first noticed something fishy when I went to check out the line output converters available on CarDomain three days ago. I thought it was odd that, although it appeared to be a functioning storefront, with the product categories and all, there was something odd. No matter what category was selected, no products would appear. I made a 2nd attempt today, to find myself being redirected to Crutchfield.
What does this mean for the car audio community?
Well, at least for me, the store won’t be missed too much. Although the pricing was moderately priced in comparison to many of the other options, I personally never really bought much from them. I hope on Crutchfield’s end that maybe they decide to pick-up more products and lines then what they currently have, and CarDomain had, and wouldn’t hurt if the pricing was somewhat the same. We shall see how this story unfolds. I’m surprised (unless I’ve missed it) that CarDomain hasn’t made an announcement about this.
UPDATE: Correction… an e-mail was sent to the customers.
October 29, 2007
Dear CarDomain Store Customer,We wanted to let you know that effective October 29th the CarDomain Store will be temporarily closed while we relaunch our store.
Instead of purchasing and storing retail inventory in-house, CarDomain will be working with well-regarded third-party retailers to provide this service for us.
You can expect to see this new retail partnership in November.
Customers who made purchases before October 26th will still have the ability to return their products directly to CarDomain for refund up to 30 days from the date of purchase. We are factory-authorized for the brands we carry, so any warranty issues should be addressed through the manufacturer.
Again, if you need to return your product for warranty work, you will need to contact the manufacturer directly. We are no longer accepting returns for this kind.
If you have any questions about your order, you can still reach our Customer Care team by phone and email through November 30th.

Crutchfield is so over priced…. I hope they do adjust their pricing if they plan to win over Cardomain customers… we shall see.
