Harmon Kardon brings 3 “Guide + Play” Portable GPS units to the Party! 310, 510, and 810.

Harmon Kardon introduces GPS-310, 510, and 810, three more portables for you too choose from! All having 4″ touch screens, with the 810 having a 4.3″er, they tread on the smaller size of the PNDs. Thanks to the “Text-to-Speech” feature, which adds the ability to actually identify and voice the road or highway names, no more missing your turn due to miscalculating “turn right in 200 feet”! The mid range 510 and high end 810 sports the ability to play-back MP3, AAC, WMA, WMV9, and MPEG4 file formats, as well as JPEG pictures from compatible SD/SDHC cards. The 810 also allows for hands-free calling with its Bluetooth integration, a feature that has been coming more standard amongst these units. The best feature of all about the 810 is its integrated FM Transmitter, which allows you to seamlessly stream music to your radio. Other then that, not sure what this unit really has going for it.

They are expected to be available November 2007, and are $349.99, $499.99, and $599.99 respectively. For the full press release with a more thorough breakdown of features, inside…

Panasonic introduces CN-GP50U - Lil’ Strada for on the Go.

Panasonic's Strada CN-GP50, their first Portable GPS Unit.

Your looking at Panasonic’s first “PND” (Portable Navigation Device) officially announced to debut in the U.S. Market. The Strada CN-GP50u is sure to please, with a array of features, from the 5″ touch screen, which automatically adjust for night and day, the 1.8 millions P.O.I. divvied amongst 51 categories, Bluetooth for hands free dialing, SD card slot for photo viewing, and the ability to command this baby via voice, allowing your hands to remain on the wheel… or the cell phone… or that Grand Mocha Latte. You get the Picture.

This might not “wow” you as much as the Jensen Navi-PC might, but will cost you about 1/3rd the price. The Panasonic CN-GP50U will go on sail in December of 2007, at a SRP of $499.95. Who’s putting this on their Christmas list?

GPS Navigation and PC to go? Jensen NVX3000PC!

Jensen's NVX3000PC, Navigation built-in a XP UMPC.

It appears that Jensen has managed to “one-up” everyone in the portable navigation market. Introducing the Jensen NVX3000PC. Not only is it a portable GPS equipped navigation unit, it also is a full featured Windows XP PC. Combine that with a 7in screen, 30gb hard drive, wi-fi, two usb ports, a remote, card reader, and more…. and you’ve got yourself a full featured unit that could easily replace many of the dash mounted multimedia units available today.

Ofcourse, all this goodie-ness comes at a hefty price, with an MSRP of $1499.99, you might be able to build the equivalent for about half the price. But still none-the-less, a great buy at a slightly lowered $1000 range, which I’d expect the prices to be after it’s officially released.
